Source Protection Committee

The Sault Ste. Marie Region Source Protection Committee (SPC) was established November 16, 2007 to fulfill the requirements of the Clean Water Act, 2006 and its corresponding regulations.

The role of the SPC is to guide the development of three key documents that complete the source protection planning process for the Sault Ste. Marie Region Source Protection Area and to ensure that all relevant information is being taken into account when protecting our local sources of drinking water now and in the future. The Sault Ste. Marie Region SPC will coordinate the development of a Terms of Reference, an Assessment Report and a Source Protection Plan for the source protection area.
