Applying for a Permit
Please read this page in full prior to completing an application for a Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alternations to Shorelines and Watercourses. All information requested on the application form and the checklist sheet must accompany the application form. All of the required details for the proposed works must be submitted with the application before it is considered complete.
Incomplete applications are not subject to the SSMRCA’s review timelines.
The following information is required for all applications:

Download/Print the application checklist.

Complete the application form.

Read and sign the Confirmation of O.Reg.176/06 Permit Terms and Conditions. A permit will not be issued without a signed confirmation.

If you are acting as agent for the owner or the sale of the property is pending, please have the property owner complete and sign a Landowner Authorization Form If you are the owner of the subject property, go to step 4.

If you have not completed a detailed description of the proposed project in the space provided on the application form please attach a letter/report decribing in detail what you propose to do (i.e. construction, timing of works, building techniques, staging, limit of works).

Four (4 ) copies of plans/drawings illustrating the existing site conditions and proposed development or site alteration including:

Area and lot line dimensions of subject property.

Location of subject property in relation to surrounding streets, concession roads, buildings ect.

Location, area and dimensions of other existing structures on the subject property

Proposed location, area and dimensions of all new structures.

Location and approximate area of any watercourses, wetlands, ponds, ravines, drainage routes (spring flooding), drains or swales either or or near the property.

Existing and proposed grades and/or drainage.
7. Include documentation/status of any municipal approvals (Committee of Adjustments, Zoning, Sub-division Agreement)
8. An application fee is required with your submission. This fee is non-refundable and can be paid by Cash or Cheque only
